There is absolutely nothing like Rennsport Reunion. It is the absolute epitome of what the Porsche brand is...and I love it. This was the 6th year of Rennsport held at the newly renamed WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. What made this event even more special was the 70 Years of Porsche celebration - there was something in the air, a palatable excitement. Just about every Porsche ever created was on display or racing on the track (as should be the case with Porsche). From the venerable 917 to a Le Mans style Porsche tractor race! I had the opportunity to check a few things off my bucket list. First was the opportunity to drive the Le Mans-winning 911 GT1.
Alegra Motorsport also provided me with the opportunity to drive their Porsche 962. To top it off they also provided me with a once in a lifetime opportunity to shake down their newly restored 1990 March Porsche -- Absolutely amazing!
RRVI was a truly unforgettable experience. While the vehicles on display and in the corrals were amazing - what made it truly unforgettable was the people. There was no pretension, no sense of entitlement, only people sharing their passion for the greatest brand in the world.
