Racing in the Rain in Shanghai

We had a decent lead entering into round 5 of the WEC season and set a goal of extending that lead. The circuit is a tough 5.451 kilometres with sixteen demanding turns. Add in the wet and somewhat unpredictable weather this year made it that much more challenging. We felt we had a good car after the practice sessions and qualified 4th in the qualifying session with a time of 1:59.031. We had a clean start to the race and kept pace. During the course of the race, we encountered two red flag stoppages for heavy rain and unsafe track conditions. Racing in the rain has always been an advantage for us - as this proved to be the case for this race.

While we were unable to take the top step, we managed to overtake the No. 97 Aston which was on older tyres and captured a P3 result. We've now extended our lead in the overall championship and have a break in the racing until 2019 where we will be taking on the 1,000 Miles 'if Sebring on March 6th.

Can't wait to get out there.
